The choir ars cantandi, since its founding in 1990, has strived to present not only conventional programs but mainly alternatives to traditional choral music. In its programs ars cantandi has centered its attention on aspects of contemporary music and art, not only in combination with music of past epochs, but in particular on first performances.

The most important concerts so far have been a combination of choir music with film, literature, painting, architecture, as well as installations.
