Dubrave Donje, Youth work (New Project) 

Jointly with the youth work of the Swiss Old Catholic church, a youth centre is being added to the church's community centre, and a youth worker hired. This is a step against young people's crime, resulting from unemployment.

Youth training workshop

School-leavers can make an apprenticeship in the workshop, 5 hurs daily in a five day week, instead of over many weeks as previously. We pay for 6 teachers for two terms, and also fund a further sewing machine and a computer.

Church

After 10 years of work in stages, the nave was finally finished. With the 25th. anniversary of the Parish of the Philippine Independent Church, in Tagbilaran City, in May 2007 we decided to help towards an open bell tower and a bell in 2008. This will make the church more attractive and increase its membership.

Primary school

As part of the renovation of the Primary school in Bangwalog, last year a new pavilion was added for a primary class. Now there will be a sanitary toilet facility for the 350 schoolchildren. Up to now there was a hut with two toilets. The drastic improvement in the hygienic conditions will contribute to better health.

With the Lent collections of 2007/2008 our Zürich parish has significantly improved the school of this poor rice farmers' village.

7. Urdaneta 
 

Women's training

As new partner for support for women in theological training, the ACTS, the training college in Urdaneta, has joined us. Counselling and grant funding supports women who hope to become ministers of the Philippine Independent Church.(IFI). Courses for the wives of Pastors are also offered.

Opening a new wing of the ACTS college, on August 3, 2004, on the 102nd anniversary of the Philippine Independent Church IFI. Partner Sein has supported the extension of the Seminar for several years.

Changes in church and theology also require training for existing pastors and church workers. Sponsors have helped this year to provide training courses for priests and Bishops of 6 Dioceses in the Theological college at Urdaneta. This is coordinated with the Director of ACTS.

Children's Home, Nadjeshda-ümüt ('Hope') New Project

The children's home, Internet: www.nadjeshda.org, has worked for 20 years to find new ways of teaching the handicapped. Our support, together with the Parish of Trimbach, is to renovate the integrated Kindergartens, for multiple and extreme handicapped children between ages 2 and 7. Beds, rockery and cutlery, furniture and an oven are being provided.

In the children's home 'Hope', they sleep on the floor.

The kitchen of the children's home in Kirgisien lacks cupboards, tables, refrigerator and oven.

Education of AIDS orphans

Since 1993 we have facilitated education of AIDS orphans. Over 80 young people between Primary schol and University have been helped with school fees. Many of them share their knowledge in one way or another with the Foundation and the village community.

Through co-operation with the ecumenical foundation 'Solidarität Dritte Welt' the school, church and village square have had electric power through a solar installation, and the water supply has been improved.
